It’s not that you cared much about the caste, you were respectful of trolls who earned it, unfortunately your views on it did not carry much weight compared to a higher bloods views. Nod and thank the cashier when you the coffee arrives, just what you needed.
Take the cup of coffee and follow her, the cup was still comfortably warm, just the nice little things you think about. Take a seat and set your cup on the table.
“Yeah, if it’s no bother to you. Not often I met trolls who share the same interests, usually they have many other things on their think pans.” An worry of embarrassing yourself had already gone away, you were just in a good mood now.
“I normally try to stay focused on one thing instead of rambling or seeming really excited. But uhm, I really am a bit giddy about meeting you. Normally a troll would have scolded me for bumping into them on accident.” You wanted to frown- but you keep up a smile. You didn’t want to seem like you believed in typical trolls but.. It was true.
You take a sip of the coffee and hum thoughtfully at the taste, glancing out the window of the shop as a couple of trolls pass by. You tap your nails on the cup a little and blow on the surface to cool it off.
“So how did you get into knitting and your other hobbies, if I may ask?”
“Haha rambling can be good to do sometimes, anyways it helps you get more of an idea of the troll your talking about and usually you’re more likely to ramble about things you like. Oh, I wouldn’t of at all.” Smile and wave your hand. Sigh some trolls were rude but at least coincidence helped you find a pleasant one.
You are sipping at the coffer every now and then to help it last you longer, you were always thoughtful of taking the time to enjoy your food and drink.
“Hmm? Oh yes that well I guess in part I had nothing better to do and to much free time. It was mainly picking up a bunch of hobbies to keep myself occupied and stuck with what I was good at.” Keep you occupied, you don’t mention to help yourself avoid sleep, you just didn’t want to dampen the conversation.

You didn’t much mind the humming, or you barely noticed it. Your main habit was fidgeting and usually you had knitting needles so you could at least be productive, so instead you play with the hem of your sleeves while you wait.
Follow behind her, you knew the menu like the back of your hand, and well a warm drink sounded great right now. It was nice enough she was offering to pay, usually most trolls didn’t care for lowbloods but one of the many subjects you didn’t dwell on.
After she places her order you do the same getting the usual cappuccino. “Ah thank you. I’ll have to pay another time.” You grin making the suggestion that you two would meet again sometime
You guess a jadeblood like you should be more strict about the caste according to other highbloods because your blood color is rare and it’s hard to get out of the caverns with. You tap your fingers a little as you inhale the scent of the hot coffee in the shop. Your eyes close for a moment before you slide the money on the counter and the cashier takes your money and places down the two cups of coffee.
You take yours and look around to locate a place to sit. There’s a nice little seat by the window. Perfect.
“If you do so insist. I’m glad you know this isn’t the last time we’ll meet.” You liked her enough, after all. She was interesting. You start walking over and you move your scarf back over your shoulder briefly.

“Well sure, I’m just happy you don’t find it horribly dull, most do.” So this little encounter was a pleasant one. You didn’t really know anyone else who had a interest in knitting and gardening, and cant forget the books.
“Yeah, just around the corner,” which speak of the devil, you round the corner to see the store front just as expected, “And there it is”
Open the door to let her in first, no need to be rude or rush. “You first” Once you open the door you’re already greeted with the aroma of the coffee’s and tea’s inside, there was a reasoon this was your favorite little place.
“No, never.” You’re continuing to talk in an almost sing-songy voice now that you’re not very nervous anymore. You’re in a chipper mood now- shuffling your feet across the ground as you follow her.
“Great!” You chuckle and you inhale the scent of the shop. “I’ll pay for both of us.” You had enough cash on you anyways, you do believe.
“Wow, that’s well wonderful.” You nearly bounce in joy but at least keep yourself somewhat restrained. Last thing you’d want to do is embarrass yourself in-front of her.
“Oh?” Her comment surprises you a tad but the idea sounded nice. “Well if you don’t mind. ’ smile and look up to the menu to see which drink seemed best right now, though you’d problem go with your usual here.
“If you’re paying then feel free to order first.”
Giving a nod, you finally stop humming. For some reason you had a tendency to do it continuously- But you weren’t sure why. Maybe because you always had music going through your think pan? You did love it, after all. The only type though was classical, and you DID play the harp. You forgot to mention that.
“I suppose.” Mm, you would suggest for her to order first but you weren’t going to go back and forth like that. So you walk up to the front counter and order your usual after the line passes. You look over to her and motion her to the counter and you step aside while you rummage through your pocket for money. If there was something you were a bit bad at, it was keeping cash in check.
You pull out a couple of coins and wait for her to place her order. “You can have whatever, dear.”

“Yeah, it is kinda something you need a lot of patience for in the first place. I make a lot of this and that sweaters, scarfs, and generally what ever strikes my fancy.”
You had no interest in the more crude interests like fighting and hunting, you could if need be but you much preferred being civil. She seemed quite friendly to and so far fun to chat with.
“Wonderful I know a pretty neat coffee place nearby, it’s really good.”
Nod and motion her to follow you. The place was right down the block, they had the best little cappuccino’s.
“I would love to see your work sometime, if that’s alright.” You were interested in what she could do! You’ve only met one other troll who could sew and knit but you never really saw her creations or caught her at work.
This was good. Very good. A lot of trolls couldn’t stand you because you were so calm and relaxed instead of edgy and violent like a majority of the population. You shuffle your feet toward her a little and nod when she motions for you to follow.
“That sounds lovely.”
You quickly trail behind, lowly humming to yourself.

“Oh, that sounds just lovely. I guess I like knitting to kill the time, and well obviously reading. I do have a bit of a garden at my hive but nothing all to special.”
Wow, so far no talk of fighting, battling or the rest of the ‘typical troll’ activities. It’s not that you were a pacifist but you just didn’t much care for such brutish action. You cared much more about doing productive things and not trying to make a body count.
“Oh?”
Yeah, you were still in public, and dilly dallying in a store was probably not well looked upon.
“I don’t have to many errands but do you want to grab coffee or tea?”
Coffee was your drink of choice, but not everyone enjoyed it as much as you did, a glass of hot cocoa sounded great too.
“Knitting sounds nice but I never really got into it. I guess it just isn’t my thing but I’m sure you’re lovely at it.”
Good. No violence talk. Just casual, calm talk- And you’re loving it. You are ALWAYS one to avoid it at all times. Fighting is also something you avoid- and you’ve only gotten into a few fights in your life- and you don’t have any actual scars.
“Coffee sounds lovely.”
You give an approving nod.

Wow, this was a pleasant change of pace, getting to talk to someone who shared the same interests, it was a pretty rare occurrence. You return the nod along with dropping your hands down to brush away any wrinkles in your skirt.
“Thanks, and quite the same to you.”
You’re just a bit on the giddy side now, you smile and shift the stack of books to your other hand.
“Ah, good I’m happy I’m not wasting you’re time. Yeah, pretty much but I’m never all to busy.”
“Ah, I see. I spend my time uhm. Reading, writing music.. I’m a botanist as well.”
It was different to know someone into the same more calm things as you- Most trolls were such vicious creatures, so it was nice to talk to a civil one every so often. You’re hand moves to your scarf and you absentmindedly toy with it.
“Mhm.”
Contain your excitement. You didn’t want to jump for joy- especially when there was other trolls just giving you glances from across the bookstore. Bluh. You brush a little hair out of your face and move the net of your hat a little.
“Do you think you would mind just chitchatting? If you have any errands I could walk with you and such.” You still needed to pick up stuff for your gardening, but it could wait.

Horror and mystery was your favorite genre of book but than again the only type of book you disliked was a poorly written one. At least you had that settled out and all your new books accounted for.
“Ah, thanks for your concern I know must trolls could care less about a books well being. So far they all look like they’re fine.”
Wow, usually the only one you could talk books with was your distant pen pal. Regardless it was nice hearing someone else concerned for their proper treatment.
“I’ll be sure to check all of that out after I get back hive but for no rush. Oh and it’s nice to meet you Lyraes, I’m Emelia.”
Shift the stack of books over to one arm so you have a free hand to offer the other troll a handshake.
“I hope I’m not gumming up you’re schedule or anything.”
“Well, I’m not most trolls now am I? I have a fondness for them and I read quite a bit, so I tend to have the need to take care of them.”
You give an approving nod to yourself- and she seemed like one of those rare trolls who you could talk to about your passion with.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Emelia. Lovely name.” You give a warm smile and adjust your scarf slightly over one shoulder.
“Not at all. I have all day. Uhm. Same to you.” You give a nervous rub to one of your arms.

You’ve already crouched down to pick up the various books that had fallen, mostly murder mystery books, and a few horror novels. You weren’t mad at the other troll, it took a lot more to rustle your jimmies and only one troll has really managed to do that thus far.
“Oh, no it’s fine. Not the worst that could happen and books are pretty sturdy anyways.”
Her help is certainly appreciated, stand up again and take the books as their offered. You look though the stack to double check if they were all there, and yup they were.
“Yup, that’s all of them. Thank you miss?”
Wow, kinda hard to thank some one properly when you didn’t even know their name.
Horror and mysteries were your thing in a way. Most books were, afterall. It kind of just depended on what you felt like- Your mood, in other terms. You wouldn’t mind trying to find a couple of good romance novels though. Good ones were hard to come across- as were good horror ones. Some were just so badly written it was ridiculous. You would sigh and shake your head if this was the time and place.
“Yes, but the impact could have damaged the cover or frame. Plus, I didn’t know if I had misplaced any or if any pages weren’t exactly attached.”
You hope she knows what you mean. Sometimes trolls get so careless with books they just rip the pages out and lay them in the books. It’s a hassle to keep them when they’re like that, too.
“I’m Lyraes.”
You nod and chuckle as you brush down your shirt and pants again.

You could honestly waste your evening here and forgo the rest of your errands but that would be quite irresponsible of you. At least this books store had a better selection than a few of the other ones in the city. You’ve already gathered a sizable stack of books, at least they’d keep you occupied for quite some time.
Usually you were a bit of a clutz but apparently it’s not you’re fault this time, when someone bumps into you. The contact actually surprises you and to your embarrassment drop your books.
Well might as well turn around to see who it is. You just hope it’s not some highblood who’d yell at you, but you hear her speak, and find yourself rather relieved that she not angry.
“Oh, it’s fine, not like anything was broken just surprised me there.”
Readjust your glasses and smile towards the other troll.
Well shit, that was a huge mistake. She dropped all of her books and you feel really bad for bumping into her. You kind of want to rub the back of your neck or something but you keep your hands to your front. When she turns around, you try to keep a weak smile on your face, but it lights up when she says it’s okay. Huh. Surprised she didn’t snap right at you.
You eye the books on the floor when she speaks, and your hands fall to your sides with a bit of a chuckle. “Well now I kind of made a little bit of a mess. Here. Er.”
You kneel down and start collecting the books. You organize them neatly in a pile in your arms before slowly standing again and offering them to her. You hope no notes or anything got lost when they fell. You’d feel terrible, really- But from what you can tell she has good tastes. “Is this all of them?”
